SURVEYOR

We are looking for a motivated Surveyor to join our team. At Aptus, we work on a variety of projects including water, wastewater, drainage, storm water management, roadway infrastructure, commercial and industrial lot design, subdivisions, and more. We have been providing our engineering consulting and surveying experience for over 35 years, for clients all over Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Our surveyors do everything from topographical surveys, construction layout, quantity pick-up, to drafting of their surveys.

Requirements:

  • 2-year technical diploma in geomatics or civil engineering technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Students currently completing their diploma are welcome to apply as well.

  • Physically fit, able to lift equipment, and able to work outside on various terrain.

  • Willing to work in various environmental conditions, and willing to work outside for extended periods with varied hours.

  • Motivated, sound judgment skills, good attendance, accountability, and attention to detail.

  • Experience with Trimble Survey gear is an asset.

  • Vehicle and a valid class 5 driver’s license – periods of travel may be required.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • First aid training is an asset.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Topographic/Detailed Surveys

  • Participating in Survey processing and utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D for drafting of surveyed data.

  • Willingness to occasionally travel away from home (typically 1-3 days).

  • Safely operating and maintaining a vehicle.

  • Safely operating and maintaining survey equipment.

  • Performing construction layout, deciphering plans, producing grade sheets, measuring and generating quantities, etc.

 

Finer Details:

  • Aptus offers fair compensation that is reflective of the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications.

    • The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

    • Expected hours are no less than 40/week, with overtime after 80 hours bi-weekly.

  • Vehicle compensation for mileage and/or daily usage for survey tasks.

  • On site free parking.

  • Financial assistance for relocation may be available, if applicable.
